There used to be very few stories out in public about the heart world. Luckily this has changed over the last couple of years. There seems to be a congenital heart defect (CHD) awareness movement going on, and this makes me glad. I personally decided two years ago to collect personal stories of congenital heart defects because they was hardly anything out about CHDs.
In the meantime you will be able to find anything that has to do with stories of congenital heart defects in every bigger bookstore. Books about personal stories, and also great advice on each and every topic that belongs to heart defects.
Collecting stories of congenital heart defects wasn‘t easy. Families did not know me personally and had some problems trusting me at first. But over time, we all grew a lot together, and I consider their stories of congenital heart defects my own story.
An editor once pretty harshly judged my book and said that nobody is interested in reading sad stories of congenital heart defects. I beg to differ. Many will gain a lot of knowledge and support, tips and ideas by reading my book, “Matters of the Heart.”
Every piece is one of many stories of congenital heart defects, and I am proud to have them all with me. I am also looking for the second volume of “Matters of the Heart.” Believe it or not, there are already way over 50 families who are in line to tell their stories of congenital heart defects!
Read just some of the many stories of congenital heart defects in Matters of the Heart.
